It must be anticipated that in mountain the weather can change quickly. Plan a warm clothing and a light clothing as well as a clothing for the rain. Think also about an outfit for the evening.
Non-exhaustive list :
- Trousers suitable for trekking, shorts or Bermuda shorts,
- mountain jacket (waterproof windbreaker),
- T-shirts,
- warm pullover or fleece,
- cap or hat (to prevent sunstroke),
- gloves and cap (in case of bad weather),
- rambler's socks (several pairs),
- leggings (in case it rains),
- comfortable evening wear,
- swimming costume/trunks and a towel for the hotel's swimming pool (for trekking if you have a picnic by the water's edge!),
- a pair of over-ankle or ankle-length hiking boots (firm ankle support is important) a pair of shoes for the evening.
- Sunglasses,
- sun cream,
- a rucksack (20 to 30-litre capacity),
- possibly telescopic hiking poles,
- a flask of at least 1.5 litres (above all for the day when you take the picnic with you),
- personal first aid kit* (double thickness sticking plasters for blisters, disinfectant, dressings, etc.),
- a survival blanket (it's light, small, cheap but it can be very usefull),
- needle and thread (just in case),
- camera,
- binoculars.
* Many products or drugs are only available on prescription (Doliprane, Bétadine, etc.). Your guide will therefore not be able to give you them, unless so instructed by the SAMU (ambulance and emergency service) in an emergency. So you are advised to bring your own.
